My advice: if youre taking melatonin in pill form, take ½ mg to 1 ½ mg about 90 minutes before bed. If youre taking melatonin in liquid form, take that same dosage but half an hour before bedtime.

I used to take one melatonin with my Loratab after a few of my ankle surgeries. Pain killers tend to keep me wide awake. So I would take one with it to help me sleep. I never had a problem. But that is just my experience not medical advice, lol.

Melatonin is a hormone made by the body it’s also sold as a supplement. Melatonin helps regulate the sleep-wake cycle and other circadian rhythms.
